Savan Kong is the creator of Lightlux and an award-winning executive whose career sits at the intersection of defense, technology, and human-centered design. He served as the Department of Defense's first Chief Customer Experience Officer — leading enterprise-wide CX transformation for the nation's largest employer and earning the 2024 DefenseScoop Industry Leadership Award.
Before the CXO role, Savan was General Manager at Rebellion Defense, where he built mission-critical software for national security. Earlier, as a Digital Service Expert at the Defense Digital Service, he led rapid-response programs including Project Rabbit and the Basic Optical Biometric Analysis effort.
Savan's private-sector career is equally unconventional. He was the first employee at Redfin and co-author of the patented interactive map-based real estate search technology. He has held senior roles at Amazon, Kareo, Conenza, and BlogTalkRadio — always focused on building products that serve people with clarity, purpose, and measurable impact.
Lightlux grew directly from that cross-sector experience: a system for turning flat contact lists into persona-driven, signal-triggered campaigns — engineered for teams who can't afford to waste outreach on the wrong prospects.
Savan is also the author of the forthcoming memoir Half-Way Light, tracing three generations of American identity. He hosts Life Between Titles, a podcast exploring identity and purpose in the space between jobs, and Office Hours, focused on leadership and career navigation.
